08.13-LIL WAYNE'S LEGAL MATTERS

Lil Wayne had two cases in two courts this week, firstly in a Manhattan to face gun possession charges where he pleaded not guilty to a second-degree felony count of criminal posession of a weapon. The charges stem from a 2007 incident when police searched his tour bus and found a .40 calibre handgun. Prosecutors claim DNA evidence links Lil Wayne to the gun but Lil Wayne and his attorney, Stacy Richman, dispute the evidence, claimimg the gun is legally registered to the rapper’s manager, Cortez Bryant. Lil Wayne's other case, for copyright infringment was postponed. Lil Wayne is accused of illegally sampling Karma-Ann Swanepoel’s tune 'Once' for his own 'I Feel Like Dying.' A new date has not been set.  As he said that he doesn't want to "take that TI, Vick Vacation..."
