08.27-PHARRELL SUES OVER CLOTHING LINE

Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams has sued Gilmar Group, the parent company of the 'Iceberg' clothing line, on behalf of his own 'Ice Cream' clothing line. Pharrell claims that the Gilmar group has blocked the trademark application for his clothing line, in effect not allowing him to produce pieces for his collection. The Gilmar Group state that the block is due to Pharrell's brand being similar to their own and fears that similarities would "confuse" consumers. Pharrell's lawyers have counter-claimed, saying that the word slang term 'Cream' - which means money - "creates a vastly different sound, appearance, meaning and overall commercial impression." Pharrell Williams launched his Ice Cream collection in 2004, along with his other brand, Billionaire Boys Club.  How you get Iceberg out of Ice Cream - we don't know.  Both names are corny for clothing lines.  If that is any consolation to either parties.

08.27-GERMAN SINGER GUILTY OF SPREADING HIV

German singer, Nadja Benaissa, was found guilty of knowingly spreading HIV by a German court. The 28-year-old broke down in tears as the conviction was read out, although she was not handed any jail time for the charge of causing bodily harm to her ex-boyfriend by having unprotected sex with him despite knowing she was infected with HIV. Benaissa was given a two-year suspended sentence and 300 hours of community service. The singer acknowledged what she had done, saying it was a big mistake, "I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart," Benaissa said, "I wish I could turn back time and make everything undone, but I know that he will never forgive me." Benaissa had faced up to ten years behind bars.  Selfish broad - and this goes out to anyone else that knowingly spread diseases to others - be a fool by yourself.

08.27-CHRIS BROWN DOING WELL

Chris Brown was congratulated by a judge over how well he is handling his probation. A brief progress report left a judge pleased with Brown's efforts as he has been attending all of his court-ordered domestic violence counselling sessions and "working consistently on finishing his community labor. In fact the judge even said Brown had been doing a "good job." Looks like he has learnt his lesson and is growing up too...May we please move on - the boy has learned his lesson...

08.27-HALLE BERRY PREGNANT?

Is Halle Berry pregnant again? So say rumors coming out of London, where she is filming a movie. Word has it that Halle went to see a gynecologist who confirmed the pregnancy. Halle is currently in London with daughter Nahlia and her ex, Gabriel Aubry. So the question is, if Halle is pregnant - who's the daddy?  Or she could just be bloated - geez.

08.26-WAS KIMORA FIRED?

Kimora Lee Simmons released a statement earlier this week saying that she had quit from her position at clothing company Baby Phat. However, sources are now emerging to say that she may have been pushed from her position within the company. Despite having founded the company with ex-husband Russell Simmons, sources close to the ex-model say Kimora was "unceremoniously dumped" from Baby Phat, adding that she is considering a lawsuit against owner Kellwood. One source said, "She was blindsided that Kellwood fired everyone." But another Baby Phat insider revealed it could all have been a way to cut costs, "Kimora was going over-budget. She’d pay herself a fee to be in the ads, plus she paid her children fees to appear in ads. It costs thousands of dollars to airbrush her because she’s a size 10. Plus, they spent a ton of money on body doubles. They would shoot another model in the clothes, and take Kimora’s head and put in on her body." Baby Phat parent company Kellwood had no comment on the allegations.  Even if they fired her, they were doing her a huge favor - no one wears Baby Phat OR Phat Farm anymore.  Period.

08.26-TIMBALAND DENIES SUICIDE RUMORS

Producer Timbaland has spoken up to deny rumors that he sought to take his own life recently. Word has it that the producer was looking to kill himself after a $2 million piece of jewelry was stolen. Timbaland confirmed that he had some jewelry stolen by someone "close" to him but he simply went for a drive to clear his head, saying, "It ain't nothin' to worry about, I don't know what happened to be honest with you, I don't know what people are talking about." Speaking on the theft, Timbaland revealed, "It's people that are close to you, you know? So only thing I did was take a drive to figure out how I'm gonna handle it. People steal from me all the time," he added, "Stuff did happen, it wasn't a watch it was something else." Timbaland was pulled over by police but was able to clear the whole matter up. Let's move on...Hope that it was not the watch that had him distraught, but that someone betrayed him...otherwise, he's a fool, and we would hate to believe that Timbaland is a fool.  For a 2 million dollar watch, that is kind of foolish, though, and we hope that he had insurance on it.
