Beyonce Knowles is still said to be mad at her father, Matthew Knowles, over an affair he had with 38-year-old Alexandra Wright with DNA tests confirming he’d fathered her son, Nixon, while still married to Beyoncé’s mother, Tina. The breakdown in family relations has an added knock-on effect as Matthew is Beyonce's manager. A music industry insider revealed, "Beyoncé was horrified to find out her dad cheated on her mom. She always looked up to him, and she is very close to her mom, so this has hit her really hard. She is refusing to speak to him, which is making things difficult where it comes to managing her career. Some people at Columbia now think it would be better to move him aside."  Not a fan of her shady father, but if she moves him to the side, then she can kiss her career goodbye - one thing he has always done has been shielded her from other shady people...

This year's BET Awards were hosted by Queen Latifah and went down The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California featuring performances from names including Alicia Keys, Usher, Puffy, Eminem, Drake and Kanye West. Awards went to Alicia keys (Best Female Artist), Nicki Minaj (Best Female Hip-Hop Artist) and Drake (Best Male Hip-Hop Artist). The award for Best Collaboration went to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' 'Empire State Of Mind' with Alicia saying, "Thank you so much, to all my people with an empire state of mind, this is for you." Elsewhere, Chris Brown paid a tribute to Michael Jackson with a tearful medley of the late singer's songs. Best Male R&B Artist went to Trey Songz while Prince was also honored and Chris Brown and Rihanna both won awards in the fan categories. John Legend was given the Humanitarian Award, saying, "I do a lot of work fighting poverty in Africa, but even here in America in our communities, there is a fight we must win. we know we can do better, we know there are solutions," adding, "Poverty doesn’t have to be a trap. There’s a lot of money, fame and influence and millions of people watching around the world. I say to all of us, we can do better."

Actually was a good show.  Believe that Chris Brown was sincere and needs to be forgiven (nah, we know publicity and that was no publicity stunt, 'cause one or two things could have happened for Chris - it could have either helped OR killed his career, so no one would advise someone to make a fool of themselves for that long on stage - if he would have cried at the end, THAT would have been a stunt, though we applaud him) - Rihanna has moved on a long time ago - only God can judge us in the end - only the two of them knows what happens...but word to Chris - let this be a lesson, and grow up.  There is one request of BET, though, to give out awards - or just call it a gathering - there were not a lot of awards given out.

Word to DIDDY - let other people shine for once!  He took over the whole after party, and Taraji was not feeling that!  Not feeling his background singers or group singers - then again, Diddy wouldn't let them shine.  He needs to learn humility.  Period.  It's not all about Diddy.

Shouts to EL DEBARGE!  Was glad to see him lookin' good and ON KEY!  He looks like he has never aged - wishing him the best and a great comeback - his career has always been overshadowed by Michael Jacksons, so here is hoping that he gets his second chance - he's talented and deserves it!  He was really great!

Prince has really learned to humble himself - Patti killed it, and Alicia gets a mention for jumping on that piano and possibly risking her pregnancy.

Come to the conclusion that until female rappers come together, they will always be divided - crabs in a barrel mentality will get you no where.  Period.  The fellas, surprisingly, know how to put their pride aside to get paper.

Love Jada Pinkett - seems real as always - that's why she seems to be blessed.

Good show, BET - keep it up to this standard.

Nicki Minaj has spoken out to finally put any bisexual rumors to rest. Despite having let the speculation build during the early part of her career it seems that Nicki is done with the bisexual gimmick as she stated, "I don’t date women and I don’t have sex with women." Got that?

P.S. Guess people can say what they want about Wayne, but he's making sure that cats eat, and in the end, that is all that counts.  He definitely seems different than his 'father' Birdman.

Sources say that things got a little heated a a pre-BET Awards party at L.A.’s Melrose eatery Philippe’s. Word has it that the problems kicked off just after midnight, with an eyewitness explaining, "One of Busta’s girls was trippin’ I guess because he was with another girl, she started yellin’ at him and he was yellin’ back and she threw a drink at him. Then she fell." Guests made for the exits despite staff attempts to clear up the broken glass. Busta also made for the exit but returned later on that night.  Love Busta, but he's gettin' too old for this mess, man...when will cats learn that JUMPOFFS will eventually talk if you do them greasy, and especially the beard ones. You're dealing with people emotions. Period.

He had a good performance, too...though, he needs to get back to just rappin'...and genuis beat making...

R&B singer Ne-Yo is set to become a father for the first time after reports broke that he attended an ultrasound visit with his girlfriend Monyetta. While the sex of the child is unknown Ne-Yo is clearly looking forward to the birth, saying, "I am 30 and I do have my first child on the way, and I'm very, very, very excited about that," adding, "It's a New Year's baby and I'm just in a really good place right now."
