08.13-VIVICA FOX: BREAK-UPS TO MAKE-UPS

Actress Vivica Fox has been in the news after her younger boyfriend, a club promoter known as Slimm, split up with her only to make up again. Slimm broke the news, by dropping a press release, saying, "Hey this is Slimm, unfortunately me and Vivica are no longer dating. After eight months, it's time to go our separate ways. In life you can love and have chemistry with a person, but flaws can sometimes outweigh the relationship. I wish her the best and I know she feels the same. Thanks." The release of the statement is said to have followed an argument with Vivica but in less than 24 hours a second statement was released by Slimm, "I want to clear the air about the rushed statement released yesterday about Vivica and I breaking up. Sometimes a person may act out of anger." Slimm then apologized for "overreacting instead of letting time take its course." Slimm added that he and Fox, had been making "fast and unplanned decisions," concluding, "Vivica is an important part of my life and I would never try to hurt her, thanks for supporting us as we figure things out." Vivica sent an email when asked how she was, writing, "Slimm and I r fine! All relationships have their ups and their downs." She added, "I'm soo proud that Slimm was man enough to clear up the air. He is a very good man with a great heart!" Now that's self-promotion!  WHO CARES, REALLY!

08.12-FOXY BROWN GOES TO COURT

Rapper Foxy Brown turned out at Brooklyn Supreme Court in a black Balanciaga blazer and a Chanel brooch and declared that she is "all about telling the truth" as she faced a grand jury investigating an altercation with neighbor, Arlene Raymond. Police say that the rapper exposed her bare backside to the neighbor, with whom Foxy has an ongoing history of antagonation. Foxy Brown told those gathered outside the court, "I'm happy to have a chance to tell the truth about what happened," adding, "Today my focus is on telling the truth." Foxy spent three hours in the courthouse but no decision was reached as to whether she will face a felony charge of violating a restraining order. While Foxy revealed "this thing has been such a nightmare" and signed autographs she refused to say what she told the grand jury. Lawyer Salvatore Strazzullo said, "We're here for justice," while a spokesman for the Brooklyn District Attorney's office said the grand jury had not decided whether to indict Brown.  This is ashame that this is when this girl gets press time...the only time...

Philipian sued Lil Wayne in April 2006 claiming she was owed $500,000 in commissions in addition to 15 percent of his total earnings. She claimed that Lil Wayne signed a three-year agreement in 2005 and that her company booked at least 21 shows for the rapper. This case was settled out of court but has led to a new lawsuit for the rapper due to a YouTube video that allegedly shows that Lil Wayne lied under oath, about his involvement with Philipian and White Tides. The new lawsuit, filed in Florida District Court, accuses Lil Wayne, Cash Money and Universal Music Group of fraud, defamation, breach of contract and other allegations. 08.12-NELLY MOVES TO RADIO

Nelly has moved to the other side of the radio mic as he began a job as an on air host at WHHL'S Hot 104.1 in St. Louis. Nelly joined the urban radio station as the afternoon drive-time host in a 3-7 p.m. slot filling in for host Staci Static who is on maternity leave. Executives say that Nelly's position will last for approximately a month. Mickey Johnson, WHHL'S program director explained why he chose Nelly for the job,"It made perfect sense for the hometown boy to do it for the short term. I was looking for someone local and someone who had that star power." Johnson added, "With Nelly being so plugged in to the industry - with the multiple Grammys and being a co-owner of the Bobcats - I knew it was easy for him to line up interviews." Nelly is also unlikely to spend too long plugging his own music as Johnson revealed that any pushing of his own singles will be done in "a natural way that fits within the format of the station."

Infamous hip-hop jeweller, Jacob The Jeweller, is suing Wyclef Jean for non-payment of bills dating from 2002-2006. The former Fugee allegedly owes for work totaling nearly $320,000. Wyclef, who recently announced he is running for the presidency of Haiti, is siad to have ignored "repeated demands for payment" for the merchandise. Wyclef is said to have picked up $765,100 worth of jewelry but paid for just over half of it, with purchases including Choppard Watch ($225,000), Ladies Choppard Watch With Diamonds ($45,000), 18KT Yachtmaster Rolex ($25,000), Diamond Chain 57.00 CT Round Brilliants ($90,000), CZ Stones For Wyclef Automobile ($5,000), Jesus Head Diamond ($12,000), Five Gold Crosses With Chains ($30,000). Let's hope that, if he wins the Presidency of Haiti, he can keep a closer eye on their economic situation than he does his own.  We think that if he can't run his own personal affairs, then how will he run a country...
