09.08-TAYLOR NOT FEELING KANYE APOLOGY

It seems that Taylor Swift is not happy with Kanye West's recent apology to her for storming the stage during the VMAs nearly a year ago. A source revealed that Taylor is "fed up" with hearing about the incident. The source revealed, "Taylor is furious that Kanye keeps discussing the VMAs incident. She's fed up of hearing about it and is disgusted that he has the cheek to use her name to promote his new album! Taylor has moved on from the incident and is hoping Kanye will - eventually - do the same." It was nearly a year ago - maybe she has a point...

09.08-IS KAT STACKS HIV POSITIVE?

Hip-hop groupie Kat Stacks may have been chasing fame in the hope of seeing her name appearing everywhere but it seems that she has popped up on a list that may not please her. The kiss-and-tell groupie has previously faced speculation that she is HIV positive, but now a website called Positive Singles has put the rumor out there in a list of people who are living with HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. The site is a forum designed to help people with STDs, but interestingly lists Kat Stacks testing positive for HIV, HPV and Herpes. Perhaps it's time for a few well-known names to get themselves tested?

09.08-FOXY DODGES FELONIES

Foxy Brown was in court for just 1 minute and 22 seconds to hear that prosecutors had dropped all but one charge agianst her in connection to an alleged violation of a restraining order brought against her by neighbor, Arlene Raymond. Foxy was arrested for apparently shouting obscenities at Raymond before bending over and exposing her backside. The pair had been at odds with each other since 2007 when Raymond claimed Foxy beat her with a BlackBerry back in 2007. Foxy arrived at court wearing a teal dress, dark sunglasses, a leopard print scarf and tan platform shoes to hear that the grand jury failed to indict her with two felonies and three of four misdemeanors. Foxy, who now faces just one count of misdemeanor criminal contempt, gushed, "I'm so happy, I'm just very happy," adding, "Never once did I worry about this." Her lawyer, Salvatore Strazzullo, explained that Foxy, who faced upto seven years in jail, may just have to complete some community service if convicted, saying, "Mooning is not an aggravated act."

09.08-HOME OF HIP-HOP SAVED

There was good news for hip-hop heritage after a South Bronx building that is recognized as the birthplace of hip-hop was saved from being sold. A federal loan prevented the sale of 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, ensuring that the rents stay affordable for its hundreds of residents. DJ Kool Herc and Senator Charles Schumer led a campaign to stop the building from being to private investors, who planned on raising the rents and selling the property. The building is the place where Kool Herc hosted what is recognized as the first hip-hop styled party back in August 1973. Speaking on the move Senator Schumer said, "This is a huge victory for Sedgwick residents that will serve as a model for preserving affordable housing throughout New York City. The message here is clear, residents of 1520 Sedgwick, and residents of affordable buildings throughout the City, should not be used as pawns for predatory equity investors to make quick profits. The purchase of this note is a major milestone that we hope will be a big win for residents of Sedgwick." City Council Speaker Christine Quinn also spoke out, recognizing the building's place in the history of hip-hop, "Three decades ago, DJ Kool Herc mixed funk songs with African beats and rap, and hip-hop was born during a house concert in the basements of 1520 Sedgwick. Hip-hop has often been an expression of hardships and 1520 Sedgwick has seen its fair share of struggles. After the fiscal crisis, 1520 Sedgwick became a victim of predatory equity investors, and we were at risk of losing a historical and cultural landmark. But with this purchase and $3 million of Council funding for repairs, we will now see the rebirth of 1520 Sedgwick – and maybe see history created once again. I’m particularly excited that this will give tenants a chance to recreate their homes, not to mention the possibility of one day converting the building into a co-op." Good news for the tenants, and hip-hop in general.

09.08-DMX DISSES PLIES

DMX spoke out on current rappers, giving a nod to T.I. - however he also called out Plies as "one of the worst" rappers out right now. DMX said of Plies, "The worst? I'm sure I don't even know who the worst is…he has to be one of the worst. Bruh bruh? Are you serious?! How do you even fix your mouth to say that or spell that?!" He also balmed Plies for dumbing down in his lyrics, "We as artists are teachers, if you teach people to spell like that or talk like that and if you do then you are dumber than the people you're supposed to be teaching…that ain't right…" Somehow we can't see Plies responding and lyrically taking down the Darkman either...

09.08-BRIAN McKNIGHT RESPONDS TO RAPE ALLEGATIONS

R&B singer Brian McKnight has responded to allegations made by porn star Alana Evans that she was raped at his home while he was absent back in 2008. Evans claimed she was raped by Nicholas Hayes, an associate of McKnight's, while the singer's two sons were present. In response to the claims, McKnight has issued a statement saying, ""We take the accusations made by Ms. Evans very seriously." Brian McKnight's statement continued, "I was made aware of a party at my house in my absence in December of 2008. I was in NYC, and both my boys (ages 15 & 17 at that time) were at the house with some friends. I can confirm that Ms. Evans was in fact at the house, as I discovered she provided some of the liquor. Being as I was not home at the time, I cannot speak absolutely regarding all the events of the evening, however my sons did inform me that due to Ms. Evans level of intoxication, that they placed her alone in a bedroom so she could ‘sleep it off.' The next morning Ms. Evans stayed and socialized at the house until approximately 2PM. Two days after the party, Ms. Evans contacted the LAPD," McKnight continued in the statement, "The police came to the house and questioned the entire family and Mr. Hayes with the full cooperation of the McKnight family. Mr. Hayes retained a lawyer, and cooperated in a month long investigation. The police concluded that no rape had occurred, and no charges were ever filed. This information is all part of the official police report." While McKnight denies any wrongdoing occurred he did sympathize with Evans, adding that he would hope the police would fully investigate any such case irrespective of the victim's profession, "Rape is a very serious matter, and not something we take lightly. I truly hope that Ms. Evans was not discriminated by the police because of her profession. I believe that the police concluded simply that no crime had taken place. That being said,'if I ever had knowledge of such a vile and reprehensible act by anyone, whether they were friends or family, I would never work to 'protect' that person. The statement that Mr. Hayes has been banned from my home is not true."
